A double header of our programmes Engineering the Future and Transforming the Supply Chain broadcast on Sky 189, Sunday 28th February from 10am.
Engineering: Facing the Future – 10am
This programme explores the issues behind the widely reported skills shortage that engineering faces. The UK will need over 20,000 engineers within the next 20 years, which is way above the current levels entering the industry. We ask leading engineering experts about the Government’s focus on apprenticeships and their invested in to the pioneering Catapult Centres as training facilities. Bringing large volumes of skilled workers into the industry as well as retaining those already within engineering is a major challenge.
Our three experts providing insight into the industry are:
Kyal Machine Tools– machine tool specialists.
DP Measurement– precision measurement experts.
Alan Harper Composites– composite moulding professionals.
We also focus on some of the pioneering innovation and technology that is crucial in making this critical industry productive and sustainable.
This broadcasts on Sky 189 Sunday 13th March 10am.

They discuss their pioneering work with Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the NHS’s E-Procurement strategy and the roll out of the GS1 initiative.
I-Fulfilment explain the stages and challenges within importing and exporting branded goods globally. They discuss the significant investment in their infrastructure and how crucial this is to achieve an efficient and sustainable supply chain.
Logistic Leaders Network highlight the strategic supply chain issues impacting on business performance. Their key objectives are to promote the pivotal role logistics plays in our society; to highlight the technology and innovation that drives the sector; and to promote logistics as an attractive career option for the best young talent.
