Digital Transformation: Meeting our Digital Needs

Posted on: 20/12/2019

The importance of a high-functioning, modern, and cost-effective public sector should never be underestimated.

The effectiveness of the public sector is vital for the health and overall operability of Britain’s economy; and whilst the public sector lacks private sector levels of investment, Britain’s consumer base still expects any interaction with the public sector to be straightforward and stress-free.

So how can the public sector meet the demands of the British public, whilst also rising to the challenges of digitalisation? Considering budget constraints, is it possible for the public sector to go it alone? Or should the public sector seek a deeper, more collaborative partnership with the private sector?

In our latest programme, Digital Transformation: Meeting our Digital Needs, we assess the impact of digitalisation on public bodies, consider the importance of new technologies, and evaluate how the public sector can remain competitive and relevant moving into the future.

In this programme we hear from a selection of specialist companies working within the public sector.  Firstly, we meet with OpenSky Data Systems, a dynamic, quality orientated IT and consultancy solutions company, who are helping government authorities to overcome resource constraints, and deal with large volume public queries.

Next we meet with TetraLogical. Established in 2019, TetraLogical aim to improve inclusivity in the public sector through the provision of specially selected IT services and applications.  We also meet with representatives from the Kensington and Chelsea County Council, who discuss the challenges they face when looking to improve customer experience, accessibility and systems efficiency.

Digital Transformation: Meeting our Digital Needs will be first broadcast on our usual channel, MyTV (Sky 191) on Sunday 22nd December 10.00am, and repeated on Sunday 26th January @ 10.00am.  After the initial broadcast, the programme will then be available online at www.executivetv.org with the rest of our digital archive.

Digital technologies and AI based softwares will continue to transform the world of work, and as they do so, it is utterly imperative that the public sector keeps pace with the speed of change, and remains open to new and innovating methods of governance and consumer engagement.
