Innovating Infrastructure

Posted on: 20/07/2018

UtilitiesExecutive TV are excited to reveal the next instalment of our series exploring the engineering industry; Unearthing Utilities. This program will look at the challenges facing utilities engineers today, as well as the opportunities that they have; a chance to innovate and deliver better infrastructure. We’ve brought together a range of exciting contributors focused on the water sector to begin our series exploring the different sides of our utilities infrastructure.

Water infrastructure has long been a challenge for Britain. Our cities have grown up over centuries with little opportunity to build new, modern water networks from the ground up. The result has too often been over taxed resources and challenges to deliver supply. But new innovations are offering new opportunities for better planning, easier installation and more effective service provision. In the coming years water companies will become more reactive and more effective, ensuring that our water infrastructure will perform to it’s best abilities.

This program brings together a range of opinions from across the water sector. Wheatley provide cutting edge utility management software for the water industry, helping their customers to better understand their network. Syrinix are an innovative start-up whose advanced sensors promise to make our infrastructure smarter. pH Water and Air work within buildings to keep water infrastructure safe and reliable. This range of expertise will give us insights from across the whole water industry and let us explore the issues that are affecting the sector today.

Unearthing Utilities will be first broadcast on our usual channel, Propeller TV (Sky 185) on Sunday 22nd of July at 10am and Sunday 19th of August at 10am. After the initial broadcast the program will be available online at http://www.executivetv.org with the rest of our digital archive.
